The droplet

Capturing water droplets is an exercise in precision and patience. Preparation is everything. A fast shutter speed here is key, to freeze the action. Since it’s likely a very close up shot, a very small aperture is needed to increase depth of field. I think one or more external flash units were also used.

The fog

The wide focal length was meant to surely capture enough of the valley and the fog as to make a meaningful image. Depth of field was achieved by the small aperture; ISO was kept low to allow for a slower shutter speed and reduce noise. The shutter speed was not included in the picture information, but I would guess something between 8-15 seconds.
